What is PTSD?
Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder or (PTSD) is a real illness. PTSD can occur following the experience or witnessing of a traumatic event. It is the brain’s natural biochemical reaction to an abnormally stressful situation (or series of stressful situations). The greater the stress, the larger and more likely reaction in the brain and the longer the side-effects of those reactions without help. You cannot just pull yourself together and get over the traumatic event.
